"How are the bugs" is the question most people are asking right now. A fresh batch have arrived and they are just as annoying as past year's.
Hoodies typically hang on the back of a sweater and rarely used, until bug season. Even better though not a fashion statement, most would be happier to wear the bug hat than have to swat constantly at the swarms of black flies when outdoors. A cautionary reminder about another bug, the tick. Well, technically a tick is an arachnid (spider family) but most of us might just lump them all together. The tick can carry Lyme disease so if ever out for a walk in the woods, wear long pants tucked into socks and wear a hat. Check your pets also. Ticks don't fly, jump or drop onto passersby. Ticks are very small, the size of sesame seed or smaller and reach out with their legs and grab onto passersby, whether human or pet. A tool specific to tick removal must be used to ensure the tick is removed properly. If bitten, consult your family doctor (or vet if it is your pet), a red mark can appear with a red circular mark surrounding it like a target.
