We had a large stubborn piece of ice yesterday and the rain overnight really damaged it’s size. By 11am, we were down to a few pieces floating and now at 2pm, we just have a bit resting in between the boat docks. So, April 7, 2021 is ‘ice out’ day. Not shabby at all. This will give us all a very healthy start to the season with lots of lead time.

This is our tenth season on Anstruther Lake and this has got to be the most gentle year we have every seen losing the ice. Staff went out on the water to crush a bit of ice but that was just airing on the side of overly cautious. Docks suffered minimal damage so while we ask for 2 weeks to re-engage docks to shore and do repairs, it will not likely take that long. Water levels are actually good, not as high as they typically are at this time but remember we haven’t had much precipitation. Remember a few years back when you needed high boots just to cross a ramp to the boat dock? Not needed this year. Yes … all this is a good sign for the season to come!

For those who have a slip at Anstruther Marina, we must have both slip agreement as well as payment before a boat can occupy a slip. If we have your boat in storage, we will contact you when your boat is ready, launched and waiting for you in the slip.
