On April 7, 2021, Premier Doug Ford announced a new shutdown to begin effective today, April 8, 2021

The COVID picture is fluid, updates for the Marina status will be posted on this blog as COVID rules evolve.  Ford’s Shutdown 3.0 began today and will last for one month, fortunately Marinas ARE considered an essential service.

The Sales Showroom location of Anstruther Marina will remain open by appointment only.  If you are interested in purchasing a boat, dock, atv or side-by-side, we are happy to have you come to the showroom, please call 705-656-4783 to book an appointment.  If you have already purchased a new boat, Jet Ski, ATV or Side-by-Side, we will contact you to arrange pickup or delivery.

The Lakeside location of Anstruther Marina primarily services the cottagers on Anstruther Lake and this part of the update is for those clients.

The ice has just left the lake as of yesterday and staff have already begun the work on re-engaging the boat docks to shore and do repairs to docks.  We do reserve 2 weeks after losing the ice to complete these tasks before boats may occupy slips so losing the ice on April 7th means we are still very much ahead of the season…the season does not officially begin until the May 24 weekend so we will all enjoy the gift of a few extra weeks.

That said, boats that have been stored here for the last winter are already being prepped by our mechanical team and the slips for those boats are prioritized for inspection/repair first so that the mechanical team is able to park those boats and continue moving through their prep process.  Overall inspection/repairs of the remaining slips should be complete this year by April 21st so clients with a slip who did not store their boat here are welcome to bring their boat anytime after April 21, 2021.

On arrival, cottagers who have a slip here are asked to please come to the office (with mask) to pick up your parking pass for the season.  Parking passes must be on display even if when parked in a  ‘named’ parking spot.  Also note that ‘named’ spots are not applicable until the May long weekend.  This is because nobody may park in the parking area in front of the mechanical shop as this is the prep space for the boats that are to be launched.  Please feel free to park in anyone’s spot in the back parking lot if someone is in your spot.

If your boat was not stored here but you are planning to launch your boat here, please park at the top of the driveway and either phone or walk down to ask our mechanical staff if the boat launch is available.  Please do not drive down with a boat attached to ask this question.  We have done this for the past few years and it has been very effective in preventing ‘traffic’ issues that had been a problem for years previous.

If you do launch your boat here, mechanical staff do not track who has used the ramp – there is a $10 fee and it is required that you report to the office to either pay this or request that it go on your account just like you would do for any other service or purchase made here.  A reminder that boat ramp hours are 9-4 unless you have made arrangements for an after hours launch.  Please remember that your slip is not available until April 21, 2021

COVID reminders; if there is someone on a boat dock, please remain on shore until it is vacant…and…after you tie up your boat at the fuel dock, remove your fuel cap and wait on shore – ask an attendant to fill for you…and…no other boats are allowed on the fuel dock even for drop offs, the rest of the dockage on the fuel dock is for use of the mechanical team.

Also, due to the overwhelming demand for use of the utility dock, we require a booked appointment to use this dock now and for deliveries.  Please do not use this dock unless you have a booked appointment and please, do not instruct any delivery service to bring an order here without telling us, again, a booking will be required and if it is something such as firewood that will leave a mess, a tarp must be put down for the wood to be unloaded onto it.

Please call if you have any questions.
