The webcam is still down but for those curious to see the lake conditions now, we have attached a photo. As you can see from the photo below (taken last night at about 7pm), the lake is ready to go any day. The remaining ice is dark and there is much water at shore's edge.
We expect with the mild temps predicted for today, it could be today or tomorrow.
Cottagers are anxious to get back to their cottages, the calls and emails have started already "launch my boat". We will see a nice early start to the season. While a request to launch the day the ice goes is not unusual, we can't do it that fast but will do asap. Please know that while we will launch as quickly as we can, marina boats are the first to be launched so that we can place the marina docks/slips back to their regular home and no boat can go into a slip until we have completed repairs to any damaged marina docks or ramps. So in reality, launching of client boats will probably not begin for at least a couple of days after we lose the ice.
You can see that we are ready with our work pontoons on the shore's edge just waiting for the ice to go so we can launch right away.
Snow is pretty much gone except for the odd clump that has seen only shade.
