It was a busy weekend at the marina. Thanks to all slip clients who dropped by to say hello and pick up their seasonal parking passes.
The loss of power for many between Thursday and Saturday was disappointing but we are grateful to hydro for bringing in the helicopter to expedite the restoration sooner than expected. We often hear from Jack and Chandos cottagers that Anstruther cottagers are lucky to have a restaurant - they come all the way over to Anstruther for one - they wish they had one on their lake too. The restaurant is now open fri-sunday for breakfast and lunch and friday nights until 7pm. Our special of 1/2 price wings on fridays continues. If you've never been here for Jacqueline's breakfast, you've missed out. Her homefries are hand cut, the plate is full and the coffee is bottomless - oh and the view during breakfast - priceless :) CR Plastics patio furniture appears to already be well known but some have asked to see it, if you want to see it in person, we now have samples at both our lakeside and hwy 28 locations. Pontoons have become very popular and this was definitely a pontoon weekend, many were sold and new stock has been ordered. We still have a few left but over the next few weeks, we will see more from the Bayshore, Enjoy and Splash series arriving to meet the growing demand. While a pontoon is an excellent choice for taking a number of people out on the water, it is also the perfect solution to North Kawartha's problematic dock bylaw. A pontoon is like adding a comfortable living room up to your dock that has sun protection - you have instant seating and you've added square footage that the bylaw wouldn't otherwise allow for.
