For the purpose of the archives, we will note that the first snowfall was about an inch on Friday night (nov 20), it stayed on the ground overnight and though a bit melted yesterday we got a bit more through the day. Today, November 23, it's still there. Fall 2015 was a great season but it looks like it's over. Next year, when we are trying to remember the timing, you can look back to this post. It has been getting increasingly colder, the air is crisp and a morning walk in the woods, because all the leaves are staying wet and not drying - they are now all frozen together.
We've been told that the lake temp is 8 degrees. Dock Care is happening now, We started last week, each day we went out to do the docks, the wind interrupted our progress and cut our day on the lake shorter than planned. Some cottagers have called/emailed wondering why their dock had not yet been moved. We try to balance it between weather and stretching out the season as long as possible. We do them in groups, it isn't efficient to go out to do the docks one by one and there are cottagers who are still crossing the lake so we want to leave docks as late as possible before there are weather hazzards to accommodate them.
