We have now been here for six years. Today brings back memories of year one...We took over ownership of the Marina in the first week of October. This was a new industry to us, till now, we were on the other side of the counter as cottagers. Thanksgiving was soonafter we took over and the parking lot was full because the weather was so good and people wore tshirts, shorts and flipflops.
Since then, we have also seen the other extreme, snow and coats. The shorts are back for 2017. Though it started with some rain, the weather is fantastic. Trees must be confused with all the rain earlier in the season and the unseasonably warm and dry September because there is little change to the foliage, the treescape is still fairly green. Many have talked about their thanksgiving festivities with family and friends. Happy thanksgiving to all. For most cottagers who haven't already closed their cottage for the season, Thanksgiving will mark the traditional close up time. Thanksgiving Monday also marks the last day for the slip season. Please note that storage and winterizing fees at Anstruther Marina are not just competitive but probably much lower than other facilities. We water test every boat in the spring and clean the seats, windows and vacuum the floor so that when you get it back it will be fresh for the new season. If you are on Anstruther, the ramp fee is waived if you store with us, as is the $50/month fee if you need to use your slip beyond Thanksgiving.
