Steamwhistle - Welcome to Anstruther!
Anstruther has a fondness for the green, we all recognize that classic green bottle. A fresh supply was delivered to us in this cool green jeep just today. Our friends at Steamwhistle came to tell us about their new amber product called Fat Tire, this is a beer our American neighbours might recognize, they've been enjoying it for longer than we have because it has been in the US for a long time. Fat Tire has finally found it's way to us here - today actually. Fat Tire is now served in the restaurant on Anstruther. The restaurant is now open for breakfast and lunch every day except Tues & Wed. Everyone knows about Fridays - we have 1/2 price wings and we are open until 8pm. Because everyone knows about fridays, remember to call for reservations, we are usually booked up especially for outdoor seating! 705-656-4783

The Deputy Fire Chief called this morning to alert us that there is a burn ban in the Township of North Kawartha effective today.
Until the ban is lifted, no new permits will be issued. ![]() The heatwave and humidity is finally over but we still have lots of summer ahead of us. Connelly's Party Cove Island is a great addition to the waterfront. Anchor it in water that is a good depth for diving and use it to lie on, jump into the water, swim to it from the dock. Roll it up and store it in your shed at the end of the weekend. Now available at Anstruther Marina 705-656-4783 Well if you haven't melted yet, you must either be floating in the water or sitting inside an air conditioned cottage. It is a sweltering 34 degrees inside my non air conditioned office, outside is little better at 32.5 and in the sun it feels much worse. Can't complain too much, better than rain or snow.
Enjoy the day! ![]() 18XTR by Legend Boats. When all you look forward to all year is family and fishing time, you need to be sure that you’re in the right boat to support your fishing addiction. If you haven't, you might be happy to hear that it is working again. Apologies for the delay in fixing it, we did hear from many about the frozen screen fixed on the broken gas dock during the bad windstorm in May. All's good now, for those that can't get here, you can now take a quick peek at the lake via our webcam. Cheers!
