We haven't posted on the blog since July 11th. How did that happen...?!
We were gently nudged by a few clients last week asking 'why has the blog stopped... we still check it... we miss it". Oops. Sorry. Didn't realize it had been that long. Summer happened and the blog got forgotten. Wait - did summer happen? Yes it did - just last week. Temps hit a sweltering 32 degrees in the 3rd week of sept. A nice ending to an otherwise disappointing summer that included record levels of rain. The rain left us with the lake level at the highest we have ever seen. It also left us with lush green grass, not the crispy yellow kind we usually see in the summer. No need for sprinklers. The restaurant is now closed for the season. Anstruther does like wings, the crowds are growing thanks to all who enjoyed our very popular friday wing nights. Actually, it's not just Anstruther...word has gotten out...folks from Jack and chandos have discovered our wings too. We will reopen the restaurant when/if the trails have opened for the winter season and the 1/2 price wings on fridays will continue. The Marina remains open for boat, motor and dock sales as well as general store items though with shortened hours. We remind those with slips that the season ends on thanksgiving Monday. There will be an additional charge of $50/month for boats that are still in slips during our 'dock walk' on the Tuesday morning. This fee is waived if the boat is stored with the Marina. Parking also becomes random after the Thanksgiving weekend as the seasonal parking ends on thanksgiving monday - this allows us to fully utilize the parking area for moving boats as we are now in winterize/storage mode.
