We were told by a cottager this morning that there is still about 20" of ice on the lake and that a log has been put in at the dam. There is not really slush at shore's edge right now and the lake itself and there really isn't much snow left on the lake, just ice.
Mark is at the Cottage Life Show at the ShoreMaster Booth and cottagers have told him that the website indicates that we are closed until May. The marina is not closed - the restaurant is closed until May. After reviewing a previous posting, it's now clear that the message was not clear.
In the winter, the restaurant pretty much opens/closes based on the trail status. When the trails close, the restaurant closes because we aren't accessible by sled any longer. Staff are here year round and the Marina is open until 3;30 pm if anyone requires fuel or a cold soft drink. Hours will be extended once the ice melts so that we can begin to prepare boats for the water and once the May long weekend arrives, we will be back to longer summer hours.
Last weekend we were packed but the mild temperatures and rain that we had over the past week have put an end to the snowmobile season on trails. Our winter season follows the status of the trails so effective today, March 15th, we will be closed until the May long weekend. Please give us at least one week notice to launch your boat. Those with a slip and who have an email address should have already received their slip agreement by email, the remainder will arrive by Canada Post over the next week.
We will try to post updates on the ice status regularly.
