Cottagers have reported significant 'natural' debris floating in the lake varying from driftwood to logs that likely were carried from a shoreline. These logs and driftwood normally lived on dry land but were likely pulled off shore because of the high water.
Be extremely cautious when driving your boat - especially at night - some cottagers have said that these water hazards were not visible until they were within feet of it during the day. Hitting one of these objects could be very dangerous especially if driving at an accelerated speed. Also, three 'runaway docks' have been reported so far this year. This is not unusual, every year we get calls about missing docks and calls about found docks and if all works out - we get the same number of calls for each and try to connect the missing to the found. If you notice a dock that has floated onto shore somewhere it does not belong, let us know and we will report the location to cottagers who are missing a dock.
